Avoid
Extra Charges
Driver
Free Time
Free time for loading and unloading is based
on rate quoted. Drop trailers are
subject to the day of drop plus two days to release back empty or
loaded. Driver excess beyond free time will be based on $75 per
hour.
Driver Assist, Unload, Tailgate
All shipments are shipper load, count and
seal. All shipments are “driver no touch” unless arrangements
are made prior to delivery. “Driver unload” or
“Driver assist” will be $75 per hour. If extra help
is required with load, there may be additional charges. Driver unload
allows no free time, and driver detention will be charged right
away.
Storage / Detention
All rail shipments arriving at the destination
ramp are allowed 72 hours from notification to be pulled from the
ramp or rail storage will apply. Storage starts at $75 per
day. In order to prevent storage charges, we need your help in accepting
deliveries ASAP. We always try to pre-set delivery appointments
to help avoid these excess charges, but unfortunately, sometimes
the railroad is not consistent to their scheduled service as we
would like.
Charge sheets
In case of an accessorial charge, we will
notify you at the time it is being incurred. You will be sent a
detailed accessorial sheet indicating the amount, a description
of the charges, and all pertinent load information. You will be
mailed a bill for the charges as indicated, with the appropriate
paperwork confirming the charges.
Equipment condition
It is the responsibility of the shipper
to inspect the equipment offered to them prior to loading of the
product. If the equipment does not meet the required standards (dirty,
holes, size, foreign materials, odor, etc.) it is the responsibility
of the shipper to reject the equipment presented and request another
unit be secured for loading.
